Dwarf Planets and KBOs: Fossils of Solar System Evolution

Venue: Zoom

Event Video

During the heliophysics voyage of an Interstellar Probe, opportunities abound for new discoveries in Planetary Science. This webinar will feature a discussion on those opportunities. This includes the possibilities to visit unexplored trans-Neptunian worlds, both primordial remnants of the Solar System's formation period ("fossils") as well as small but active, evolving planets such as Pluto. Additionally, the characterization of the surface of trans-Neptunian worlds will be reviewed and its importance in understanding the broader population of icy bodies.
